The role of the MSI now sees us stretch this integration further to encompass wider systems within a building, such as BMS, Energy, Lighting, Security, Vertical Transportation, CCTV and Access Control, and now commonly bringing in web service data from external sources (e.g. Internet of Things cloud platforms such as occupancy and air quality sensors).

The aspiration in the specifications we see, and ultimately for the building owners is for all these systems to be integrated via a common converged network, and a level of normalisation applied to all this data to follow an agreed uniformed structure.
