GeoBMS

The GeoBMS Network driver connects Niagara BACnet devices to the GeoBMS Platform providing READ/WRITE access to Niagara device points via the GeoBMS RESTful API server. To realize the full power of the platform, you must either connect to an existing GeoBMS RESTful API server or download and deploy it to your own private or public network. Instruction are provice to download and deply the server. 

Once you have this combination, you can write applications to READ/WRITE from/to Niagara BACnet device points outside the Niagara Framework thus creating reusable applications/solutions such as optimizers. The API consists of standard GET, POST, and PUT endpoints.

Question: I have downloaded the driver. Can I start reading and writing to the Niagara device points immediately?

You must first connect to a GeoBMS RESTful API server. Instructions to download and deploy the server are provided.

Question: I have connected to a GeoBMS RESTful API server. What next?

There are four steps:

1. Create a model on the server: you describe the model with a TTL file that you upload via the upload endpoint.
2. Generate the model in the Niagara environment under the GeoBMS Network driver.
3. Map the Niagara BACnet devices to the analagous GeoBMS devices.
4. Generate the points of the Niagara BACnet devices for the GeoBMS devices.

Question: I have added additional Niagara BACnet devices after my initial setup. Can I update the system?

Yes, you follow the same steps, except instead of choosing the Generate Devices/Generate Points actions in steps 2 and 4, you choose Update Devices/Update Points.
