QAGFoxhound

QAGFoxhound is a desktop app that connects to a Niagara station and handles the review and documentation work that usually means flipping between Workbench, spreadsheets and Word. Run automated checks, catch naming and binding errors before turnover, and generate a branded site report in a few clicks. It works alongside Workbench and does not replace it.

PRICE: $1,500 per year, per user and machine. Includes all updates and email support while active.

Who it is for

Niagara integrators, controls technicians, commissioning agents and BAS designers who need a faster way to audit stations and produce closeout documentation.

Automated QA checks

•      Point Name Check: flags likely typos by finding near-duplicate point names

•      Facet Check: confirms units are set and boolean text is configured

•      History Extension Check: confirms points that should be trended are, and that the extensions are enabled

•      Alarm Extension Check: the same verification for alarm extensions

•      Point Status Check: lists every point that is disabled, in fault or overridden

•      Graphics Review: parses Px files, confirms every equipment point appears on a graphic, and flags missing, broken or duplicate bindings

•      Health Check: points in fault, active alarms, overrides and sensor outliers in one pass

Station Explorer

Browse an equipment-only station tree with search, and see every point's type, facets, extensions and enabled state. Foxhound sorts equipment into templates automatically based on matching points, shows what differs between similar templates, and isolates one-off units. Notes can be added to any piece of equipment, and two stations or exports can be compared side by side.

Queries, dashboards and reports

•      Run custom BQL queries against a live connection and save results to the project

•      Build dashboards from live or historical data with line charts, pie charts and value tables

•      Export a commissioning points list, including XLSX with CxA-formatted columns

•      Generate a full site report or a single-equipment report with your logo, project details, notes and photos

•      Export to HTML, PDF or CSV

Projects and portfolio

Everything for a site lives in one self-contained project file: station data, notes, saved queries, dashboards and reports. Projects auto-save every two minutes and can be sent to a teammate with their own license.

Security

Station data stays on the user's machine. The only outbound connection is to QA Graphics' licensing service for activation and periodic validation. QA Graphics recommends a dedicated, non-admin Niagara user for the connection.

Licensing Management: Annual subscription with one active seat per license. Seats can be deactivated and moved to a new machine. Works offline after activation, with an online check every 30 days.

Requirements: Windows 10 (64-bit, version 1809+) or Windows 11, or macOS 12+ on Apple Silicon. 4 GB RAM minimum (8 GB recommended) and 500 MB disk. Connects to the station REST API over HTTPS, including self-signed certificates, or loads a standard Workbench CSV export. Tested on stations with 10,000+ points.

Platform: Works with Niagara 4 Supervisor and JACE stations
